Feedback is all important in learning outcomes, but as important is how this feedback is given. Often the point of the feedback is lost or the feedback itself is misdirected and useless to the learner.
I recently saw that the brilliant Will Thalheimer has produced an in-depth report on how to give learners feedback.
Thalheimer says the report is “written in a way that puts feedback in perspective, that goes deep into the fundamentals to give readers clear mental models for how feedback works.”
This report is being given away free and contains some brilliant insights into feedback, its purpose and how it should be given. The link to the report is here.
